Where to find Project Explorer for Civil 3D

Info for those searching for Civil 3D Project Explorer. You need to have subscription to AEC Industry Collection or enterprise subscription for Civil 3D. As far as I know, normal Civil 3D subscribers are excluded. 😞

I have no explanation for this...

We have AEC Collection subscription, multi-user...

Yet, no Project Explorer...

I imagine there is some distinction between different types of AEC Collection license models that I'm missing, (Industry, Enterprise, etc.,) but I don't see any difference in your displayed AEC Collection and ours, do you? Am I missing something (other than Project Explorer, that is)? Maybe I'm just being dense, but if there is a distinction it should be more clear, in my opinion.

We have single-user and multi-user subscriptions in our office. Project Explorer is only showing for the single-user.

Aha! You may have found it. My personal license is single-user, so maybe that's why I was able to access it. Possibly, Autodesk is adding multi-users as we speak. Hopefully.

Hi everyone,

Project Explorer is available for AEC Collection subscribers and Token Flex customers. As @tcorey pointed out, it will be located directly under Civil 3D within the AEC Collection. 

There shouldn't be a difference between single vs. multi-user license subscribers. Note that a release does not become instantly available in all customer accounts on the initial go-live date. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes a few days to trickle out to all eligible accounts. While I suspect that might be what's happening here, I'll double-check on our end to confirm.

Same issue on out end, our multi-user AEC isn't showing it as of yet.

We had the download appear yesterday afternoon (around 19 hours ago now) for our multi-user AEC Collection licenses.

Last week I contacted my Autodesk Reseller and asked that they investigate the situation on my behalf. Last Friday they reported that Autodesk found a technical issue with our account page. Autodesk was able to correct the issue. As soon as the issue was corrected, Project Explorer became accessible. 

I was able to download it late Friday.

Interesting. I contacted our reseller as well, and the reply back was:

"So we reached out to Autodesk about the Project Explorer for Civil 3D and the response back was the Software was “Not Currently available”. They also said they will let us know when we can tell out clients when it will be available."

Project Explorer isn't available under a Civil 3D contract. It's part of the AEC collection. So technically your reselers answer is correct. 

I'm often am aware of things our reseller doesn't know yet. Even when things are no longer under an NDA. Autodesk seems slow to notify the resellers.

Yes, I understand. We have both AEC Collections & C3Ds, and thus far PE remains unavailable. And I'd agree with you on the reseller end, but I've been in contact with our reseller a number of times over the past few weeks (renewal time approaching) so I know he's aware of our setup.

To be honest, at this point I'm moving on to other things. Just seems...crazy.

My reseller sent me this:

Autodesk reported the issue was a child asset was missing from the contract. It has been added and the Project Explorer should now be visible.

And as soon as I read that, I verified accessibility. There is no doubt in my mind that something was done to my account which resolved my issue.  FYI

Finally have access to it, but now Project Explorer is unable to find our licensee.
