Hello everyone.
I have gabion wall and retaining wall of varying height attached to my assembly to built corridor. I can calculate the overall cut fill but I need to estimate the retaining wall and gabion wall volume separately. Is there a way to do it?

Hi there! the answer is yes, you can compute those quantities separately. Create a datum for each structure (a surface that covers the lower part of the gabion and another surface that does the same for the retaining wall). Then, when computing the quantities again you will be able to choose the correct datum surface and have the quantities separated.
I hope this helps. Best regards!
In Construction estimating, accurately calculating volumes for your gabion wall and retaining wall is essential for effective project planning. For the gabion wall, determine the volume by multiplying the cross-sectional area (base width times height) by its length. Similarly, calculate the volume of the retaining wall based on its cross-sectional area and length.
This approach allows for accurate material estimation and cost assessment specific to each type of wall. If you have any questions about these calculations or need further guidance on optimizing this process, please don't hesitate to ask!
Best regards,
Luna
