Visualize in civil 3d 2023

Hi
I hope someone has some thoughts about visualizing directly in Civil 3d. Preferably with the use of Render or simple use of Realistic.
I think I have problems with the video card. It is of a type that is not on Autodesk's list of approved cards. It's a Quadro K5000.
When rendering in C3D 2023, I don't get sun and shadows in the right way.

Is there anyone out there who uses C3D for simple rendering and thinks it works ok?

Here is one of the challenges, or is there something wrong with the Civil3D?

This is a Multi View Block from the tool palettes. Highways, Vehicles, BMW.

The block at left is exploded two times, and therefore not a multi view block anymore. But the isolines is not showing anymore and the car is showing right.

Here is a rendered image.

Surface with draped ortho areal photo.

Location set. Sun on. Default lighting off. Time set to midle of the day in summer.

Here in Norway, there should have been quite a few shadows on the model and beyond the terrain.

Notice the shadow of the box in front hitting the wall behind. Very strange.

And not least the zigzag lines.

Does anyone have any idea how to make this look better in Civil3D?

Thanks!

Rune

I think you have done well to get a far as you have done.  Unfortunately, I think you are using the wrong tool for the job.  Infraworks or Revit would be far more suited for this task, depending on the size of the site.

Civil 3D is really not made for visualisation in my opinion, I think the engine is designed for geometry rather than visual.

I use Infraworks for this type of thing as I find C3D to be too glitchy and clunky.
