we have to prepare a utility crossing table for our Sanitary FM design that crosses existing utilities
The table has the form
#, utility name, top of utility, bottom of utility, top of FM, bottom of FM, clear distance
I did this with pipe networks and surfaces
I used a null structure at each utility crossing the FM and can easily populate # , utility name, top, and bottom of utility. I couldn't use a reference text for the FM so I made a surface of the invert and an expression for the pipe height, assigned the surface to the nulls and populated that as top, and bottom of FM
How can I get the vertical separation from the FM to the Utility? I will entertain a work flow change, and would prefer not using an add-on that I don't have

can you export the pipe data to excel?
there you can write an equation to calculate the clearance
and datalink back to cad . . ..
just a thought
I don't know if this what you're talking about, but I create "Pipe Clearance Tables" using Excel, then insert it using "Table", as a datalink.
I've attached somewhat of a unfinished "crude" example.
My company won't allow anyone to connect to the Exchange, so I guess I need to ask...
This "App" of which you speak...
I was wondering if they are able to store "ALL" pipe dimensions and specifications within its database to do an accurate assessment of for a utility crossing?
Or, is it up to the user to input such info. prior to use?
