Unable to add points to point group

Hello everyone. This is my first time using Civil 3D. Thank you for your time and patience.

I'm following this tutorial to translate a civil topography into revit:

At around 29:54 the speaker creates a surface from a point group. 

I created a set of points by dividing breaklines defining a TIN surface and imported those points into the drawing. The goal is to create a surface by triangulating these points. The points were created in rhino by dividing the Civil 3D breaklines since I did not know how to do that in Civil 3D. They came in as a block and I exploded the block. The points are now editable and selectable. 

The points select and are visible in 3D view. When I try to create a point group and add points to it using the include tab, the software does not let me actually select the points and add it to the point group. 

How do I go about doing this? Thank you so much for your time.

Hi,

I am not sure about Rhino points, but maybe you could try converting them to cogo points.

HOME > POINTS > CONVERT AUTOCAD POINTS

This might put them into the format required by C3D.

Use the LIST command and pick one of your point objects. Hit F2 button to go to text window. Post the contents here.

That will allow us to know for sure exactly the type of point object it is. It could be a Point, it could be a COGO Point. There's a difference in how you will proceed in creating your surface, depending on which type of point.
