Trouble creating surface from contour from polylines

I have been creating surfaces from other survey drawings which i have been working on however I am failing to create a surface from the polylines , what is the fault in this type of drawing and how can this be rectified

@tonderaitmaworera I took a look at your drawing and was able to successfully create a surface from the contours in the file on my end. One thing I noticed though is that layer 0 was turned off. Since the only surface style in that file is Standard, and the surface object is set to be placed on layer 0, it will not show any updates when adding the contours to a surface definition. Once the layer 0 is turned back on, you can see the surface model (see screenshot below).

Also worth mentioning is that you have a combination of 3D and 2D polylines in there depicting the contours. Typically 2D polylines are reserved for Contour definition, while 3D polylines are reserved for Breakline definitions.

Thank you Steve, This is priceless information i am grateful, i will work on other drawings and create surfaces. Let me apply this to other drawings and i will give you feedback. Once again i thank you i am still new to Civil 3D i look forward to improve with constant practice.
