Trim Line at 3DFace

Is there a way to trim a Line at a 3DFace of a Solid? I read that you can use Imprint to do that. But I haven't been able to figure that out.

I thought I had it solved. I set the UCS on the Face of the Solid and drew a Circle from the corner of the face perpendicular to the line. It looks like the circle intersects the line at the Face. But when I trim it the endpoint of the line ends up before intersecting the face.

I've attached a drawing with the Face, the Line and the Circle.

I accomplished this by drawing a line from the AppInt of the line and the circle and using that line to trim with. Did the trick but quite a workaround for a simple trim operation.

Hi Allen,

I think there is no a simple solution for this. 

I found this thread on cadforum.cz (see also this one with geometric calc) that could be helpful

but I am not sure if your method is faster/better.

I also did some tries with IMPRINT command (if we started with 3D solid and line) then explode solid to regions.

That  could be faster to determine all intersection points locations (better in case when we have a lot of lines).

Very nice. With ILP(end,end,end,end,end) I was able to draw a line from the intersection of the line with the one face of the 3D Solid. If I needed to do this often I'd make it a macro or Lisp.
