Transforming (Reprojecting) DWG files with Pipe Network features in it, from UTM Zone 17 NAD83 (Original) to MTM 10 NAD83 CSRS

Hi everyone,

I want to transform (reproject) DWG files with Pipe Network features from UTM Zone 17 NAD83 (Original) to MTM 10 NAD83 CSRS.

I used the following link method.

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/transform-reprojec...

When I define query, it prompts that  some entities can't be queried.

query_error.PNG

And results contain projected polylines without Pipe networks.

orginal.PNG

source dwg

projected.PNG

projected dwg

Is there any solution to project Pipe network features to other coordinate?

Hi @gis_analyst2022,
Welcome to the Autodesk Forums.
The Attach/Query method of your link only works on dumb linework. To transform Civil 3D Objects, you'll need to use the >>>Coordinate System Transformation Tool<<<.

Hi @Pointdump

Thanks for your answer and help.

I used the coordinate transformation tool, but unfortunately, it skips lots of features.

coordinate system transfomation3.PNG

and the result is not projected correctly (based on Bing map)

I test this tool for another dwg, and it works well.

@gis_analyst2022,
Interesting. Since it picked up your Pipes and Structures, I wonder what a "Geo Entity" is.
I didn't get as far as you did. I tried twice to transform your drawing and got "fatal error".
