Toolspace is grayed out

So my coworkers toolspace is grayed out. Any solutions out there?

Restart C3D?
Only with a certain drawing?
Have a different user log in to this PC - same thing?

did you test different conditions like @rkmcswain suggested? is *everything* greyed out? are each of the tabs - prospector, settings, survey and toolbox all greyed out or just one?  can you post a screen shot of it? it's really hard to help without better information.

Yes but that is not Civil 3D, it is regular Autocad.

She probably used the wrong icon.

@wfberry is correct, that is plain AutoCAD. When Civil3D is being used, the top bar will appear like so:

Note the blue C and the title says Autodesk Civil 3D

There are links in the original post that will take you to (well, it actually reloads this same page, poor programming) the solution.

You can also just scroll down and look for the green check box(es).

If you do not think one or both are the solution, click on the "Report" button and let the mods know to remove them as the solution.

For reference, I had a problem too where Toolspace suddenly grayed out, and I am using civil3d.

Restarting won't work. What solved my problem was to create a dummy point in the file and right-click on it to edit the style; the toolspace appeared instantly. I believe that any civil3d objects in the file that require toolspace editing can cause a return of toolspace icon.
