TOOL PALETTE WINDOW DOES NOT APPEAR WHEN I CLICK THE TOOL PALETTE BUTTON

This is really bugging me.  I haven't used Tool Palettes in several months.  I feel like when I did use them, I used them only sparingly, and I somehow got them to open.  So now I need to use them again to create an Assembly and pull in all the parts.  The strange thing is that I click the Tool Palettes button to turn it on, and the active window flashes but nothing happens.  It is the strangest thing - no Tool Palettes window, notta, nothing, just a flash and that's it.  I ran HIDEPALLETES, SHOWPALETTES, HIDEPALETTES and SHOWPALETTES again and all that did was mess up my screen with some weird phantom window in the upper left corner.

Also, the same thing happens when I try and turn on Design Center.  Sometimes, Design Center will show up, but sometimes it won't, usually it won't.  I have tried every trick I know, and i have not been able to get these to work.  Please hELP!

For now I am just using workarounds, but I'd rather not manually place a bunch of road contours if i don't have to!!!!!!

I’m not sure that would help because the situation happens even if I have a blank drawing open.

alternate method to access tool palette: ctrl+3

alternate method to access sub assemblies:  set menubar to 1 to turn on menus. Look for the corridors menu, if it is not visible go to cui and add it to your workspace. Under the corridors menu is "subassembly catalog" as well as an toggle for tool palettes.

It sounds like you may have tool palettes shrunk to a minimal size with auto hide thing turned on and not docked. If you can locate where it flickers on at and move your mouse pointer there, you may be able to get it to show long enough to change those settings.

If you have multiple screens, right click on your desktop and go to Display Settings, then drag the secondary display to the other side of the main display, apply and okay, then try to open those palettes again. If they appear, drag them over to the main display. Once on the main display, you can swap your displays again and move the palettes from your main to the second display.
