hiya! my text is dissapearting when i use the move and rotate command. it also dissapears when i drag by a grip - my dragmode is set to auto and i've turned on and off my hardware acceleration to no effect. are there other system variables that i could change to fix this? other co-workers open up the same drawing and dont have the problem, so it seems like its something within my cad settings but i cant find it... help

Hi @nmigliori,
"other co-workers open up the same drawing and don't have the problem..."
Do you have this problem with other drawings, or just this one?

Sometimes when I MOVE text it disappears because my OSNAPS are on and the text get sent way far away to the end of a line 🙂

But anyway- I would say try an audit but you say it's in all dwgs.  Do you use annotative text?

Does Regen bring it back. After the text disappears. Where does Zoom > Object > Previous take you?

Have you tried turning off Hardware acceleration?

I'm having the same issue with a new Lenovo Legion, Win 11 Pro, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card, C3D, 2022 current updates on both CAD and Windows.

This is driving me insane. Regen does nothing. I have to undo and then run an audit every time this I have this issue, which is 10 - 20 times a day.

Anyone else having this problem?

Yeah never found a solution - I just reinstalled AutoCAD to fix it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks for that. I really didn't want to have to do a fresh install mid project, but..... here we go again....

You can try updating your video card drivers.

This may also have something to do with how windows is handling fonts. Especially if there true-type fonts that are in play.

YES, I too have the same issue. when moving or editing text, you can convert it to mtext and the problem will stop.

I don't have an issue when opening the same drawing on my laptop which has a i9 windows 10 pro and others don't seem to have an issue either.

btw, all updates and drivers are current.

There is a variable that makes text process faster by simplifying the display. I think it is FASTTEXT or similar.

The variable is QTEXT. Probably not your issue but worthwhile to check it.

Thank you, Neil,

I have not had an issue where I needed to use "QTEXT", but that tip looks very useful. as far the 'fasttext' autocad has a command for which I can't remember either. I did try it but didn't stop it from happening on this machine.

I am wondering if it has to do with a processor type, I can open the same drawing using my laptop with a I9 or my older desktop with a I5 and don't have "TEXT" that will disappear when editing it. My work around is to convert text into mtext for now.

cheers

It sounds like a video driver issue as was suggested by Mr Zlatislav. Do a search to see if you can find an update.

One other suggestion: change the font used in the text style to a standard Autocad font (i.e. Simplex). It may be your style is using a font that has issues.

I am seeing this issue also on one of my users computer. No one else is seeing this. This user has left running osnaps off and it still happened. This is user is up to date in Windows and C3D 2022 and ACAD 2022 updates. Video drive is using the latest Autodesk Certified driver for the card and I have also tried it with the latest driver for this card.

What is madding about this error is that it can't be repeated on demand. The user was finally able to capture the issue on video I have attached it. The only way we have found to clear the issue is to close out of Civil 3D but try doing that 5 or 6 times a day. We are about ready to reinstall Civil 3D but would prefer not too.
