Text Component Editor non-functional / greyed out

I am having a similar issue to the post here:

When i try to edit a label content, the text component editor is greyed out, likewise whenever i make a change to the properties, the entire content line is deleted. i have repaired, reinstalled, and changed user profiles, reset user profiles, and created new windows profiles. This happens on several machines at the office. It happens in every file. some machines work fine, others do not. 

i am assuming its a registry error now? is the text component editor the AeecUiTce.arx file under program files>autodesk>autocad 2019>C3D?

i had a similar issue. it happened when i imported a style from another drawing. i went into my font styles and changed the font that was used in my "Standard"font style and it fixed the issue.
