Targeting Dialogue Box missing OK and Cancel Buttons

Hello,

I have a user who is accessing the updated 2022.1.2 Corridor Dialogue Box for targeting in their assemblies. This user is missing the OK and CANCEL buttons in the targeting dialogue box only, the buttons are everywhere else in Civil 3D. See image below... Every other user that I have has all the buttons there.

The steps that we have tried...

Hitting Enter does not accept changes or close dialogue box.

Turn off Hardware Acceleration (did not solve)

Update Video Card Drivers (did not solve)

Change windows display scaling (did not solve)

Clean Uninstall and Reinstall of Civil 3D (worked for 3-4 days, then reverted to previous image where dialogue buttons disappeared)

Replaced Computer (worked for 2-3 days, then reverted to previous image where dialogue buttons disappeared)

I am completely out of ideas and options here and hoping that anyone maybe has another idea.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Kyle-Evans

Are there any 3rd party applications/add-ins installed on top of C3D? Since the issue occurs after few days after reinstalling/setting up new environment it looks like there might be something that triggers it. Have any changes to the C3D software been implemented between fresh install and the issue occurence?

Hey Michael,

Thanks for your reply. There are no additional programs or environment related items that were installed. I have 30+ other users all with the same computers and environments where everything is correct and as is. It is this 1 particular user that is having problems.

Just wanted to say I am having a similar issue with this same dialogue box, the buttons are not completely hidden but are just mostly gone:Target Mapping.png

It seems like the problem has something to do with the box not being able to be resized and the resolution of the monitors (I am on a laptop with two external monitors).

Having the same issue, so how are we supposed to fix this?

The 2 or 3 occurrences that I have seen were fixed with a clean reinstall of Civil 3D, however it did come back again for one of my users after the clean reinstall.

Other than that, I have tried everything I can think of and everything suggested...

Adjusting windows scaling

Changing screen resolution

Updating Windows and Video Card Drivers

Updating Civil 3D

ect...

This is one of these "cannot use the software at all" bugs, really ridiculous.

Just wanted to add that I did figure out that if you click inside the Baseline End Station box and hit tab once that will highlight the "OK" button so you can press enter to accept anychanges and close the dialogue box. Hope that helps, good luck all.

Any chance resetting all the dialog boxes within C3D might help?  Based on the article below, you can delete out the following registry key to do so:  HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Autodesk \ AutoCAD \ RXX.X \ ACAD-XXXX:XXX \ Profiles \ <cad profile name> \ “Dialogs”

 http://www.civil4d.com/2010/09/autocad-dialogs-opening-off-screen-seem-like-lock-up/

I hope this helps.

Nice! That did the trick, instead of deleting all of the keys in the folder I found the Target Mapping entry and only deleted it (that way it didn't reset all of my dialogue boxes).

The Key name is: AeccUiDlgTargetMappingV5

You are awesome, thanks again!
