Target Between 2 Baselines in the Same Corridor

I'm working on a project where we are reconstructing a divided roadway. In my corridor, I have 2 baselines: one for northbound traffic and one for southbound traffic as shown in the cross section below:

I cannot figure out how to tie the 2 baselines together where the median will go and show the resultant slope (the intent is to go straight-grade from one side to the other).  I can't extract a corridor feature line from one of the baselines and use it as a target since Civil 3D won't allow using a corridor feature line as a target in the same corridor. I also tried using a Marked Point and Link To Marked Point, but that doesn't seem to work between baselines.

Anyone have any suggestions or ideas I could try? I'd like to try to keep the target dynamic as I have areas of widening for turn lanes, slope changes for super-elevation, etc.

Thanks.

Hi, I would extract the back-curb feature line of one of the roads. Then, I would get rid of the dynamic link between the feature line and the corridor. Then, I would get the feature line elevation from the top surface of the corridor and create the dynamic connection between this same feature line and the top surface by adding a relative to surface elevation of zero.

In this way, the feature line will update its points elevation automatically from the top surface.

Then, I would target this feature line with a LinkWidthAndSlope subassembly. The target operation should be allowed since the feature line is not connected to the corridor anymore but to a surface.

I haven't done this before but I think it might work.

Let me know if it helped you

Kind regards!

Are you using an offset assembly for the second baseline?  If you are then there is one subassembly LinkToMarkedPoint2 which can connect between the two corridor sections.

If that doesn't work then I would probably use a separate corridor with targets to build the link between the two parts of your primary design.

Here’s an assembly I use for divided roadways. It has a link named “RT to LT Connector”. It will target the alignment/profile of the left gutter. There is a marked point on the “RT Curb Inside” that is targeted by the “Median”. After creating cross sections change the “RT to LT Connector” Omit Link property to yes so it won’t show.  This should do the trick for you.
