Surface has no border to extract.

I want to be able to extract a border so as to be able to use it as a feature/breakline in order to more quickly tie a new surface to an existing one. However my surface does not seem to have a border to extract, even when I turn it on in the Surface style display bar. The Layer it is on is displayed and unfrozen, and other features on the same layer work just fine. Any ideas?

Be sure that layer is also On, not just Thawed.

Border layer is both on and thawed. For example the surface triangles are on same layer and they have no problem displaying.

In the Surface Style, on the Borders tab, make sure "Display Exterior Borders" is set to True.
