superimposed and data shortcut profiles disappearing in 2023

We have a road design project in Civil 3d 2023. There are multiple streets and for each street we have an alignment at center of road, left edge of pavement and right edge of pavement. All three alignments on each road have an existing profile sampled from a surface as well as a proposed profile created using the profile creation tools. The left and right profiles are then superimposed into the center line profile view. In a separate drawing we have created drefs (data shortcuts) of the center line alignment/profiles along with the superimposed profiles in the centerline profile view.

In the source drawing, we can see all profiles and their elevations display in the bands. In the destination drawing with the data shortcut references all superimposed profiles references are not visible. I can see them in the Toolspace palette and in the profiles tab of the profile view properties. This happened once before, and we recreated all data shortcuts. The profiles displayed correct and then later when opening the drawing, the profiles were gone again. Another item to note, all centerline alignments are created as Centerline Alignments and all left/right alignments are created as Miscellaneous Alignments. Also, we noticed the profiles had a synchronize message and we synchronized all though it did not resolve the issue. We have turned all layers on and thawed. Checked the styles to make sure items were not turned off in Display.

Any thoughts as to why the profiles are not displayed?
