I know there isn't a perfect program out there, and I think Civil 3D is great, but there are some things that drive me NUTS, such as the extreme amount of customizable to a point where it becomes the opposite of the intended purpose. The current example is surface labeling. I have set my spot elevation to S-MAIN-TEXT, yet the point label is defaulting to S-TOPO-ELEV. Now, I understand that it is using the layer defined in the object layers settings, and I understand that the text is set to the S-MAIN-TEXT layer, but the thing I'm a little miffed about is that I could care less what layer the text is on; I want the thing that I'm seeing on our sheet to be solely controlled by one layer, not 2. Maybe this is a situation where it's come up as a request or the autocad team saw a need for it and autocad is essentially a summation of those needs which may or may not be useless to others, but it has made my head spin learning this program on my own, and these are the reason why. Maybe someone could provide some insight for me.
Again, I love Autocad C3D, you guys are great.
