Structure Table Calcs

This is a bit intimidating... not really sure where this will show up... hope i can find it later..??

Anywho, I'm using if statements in my C3D 2019 structure table & getting closer to the solution but missing the correct operator:

Operators.JPG

One that means "ISBLANK" per excel as in; if no inner dia then inner width...

Ultimately, I'm trying to put MH's & CB's in the same table for entire network without "???":

StrTbl.JPG

Is there a way? I searched for too long but i cant imagine someone hasn't had this problem before..??

Any help is much appreciated.. thx

@larrymcvittie3024,

i have something on my mind if i see the values you are looking to fill on table i can say what has to be done or i can give try to fill instead of ????.
would be great if share the file.

or try with IF option under expression some thing like IF the structure diameter is greater than the values and it should be displayed as - (or what ever symbol)

Pardon my confusion. Why do you need an expression to put manholes and catch basins in the same tabel? They do by default. What are you trying to do?

expressions only understand yes or no. I do not know that you can switch one parameter for another.. you hide negative values, thats a good one I use

Can you show your expression

Thanks for the reply... I might be overthinking this.. what I'm trying to create is a column in a table so if its a MH the cell will give rounded size in mm, eg. "MH(1500%%C)",

if its a DI it inserts grate & cover eg. "DI(A,HOR)" &

if its a CB cell is eg. "CB"

Is there a way to set a row style per structure already?  "put manholes and catch basins in the same tabel? They do by default."

I like "if negative, hide" but is there one for null/blank/not a structure property or can that be considered the same?  IF ???, HIDE.

Ok.

There really is no need for these expressions. In the future You want your part list to have all your structure sizes and descriptors assigned accordingly. Likewise, the description in you part list can say everything you want the structure table to say in addition to or instead of the structure definitions.

Assuming your part list does not have to true siszes; you can modify all the descriptions and use that in your table

if you part list in fact does have the true size you can use that parameter directly in you table

Hope that helps

Thanks for your help Joe...  im trying to use all the structure properties as I can:

StrProp2.JPG

As I have the Structure Description  already being used:

StrProp1.jpg

In my parts list I have actual sizes with nominal names:

PARTS LIST_not fnc.jpg

but incorrect format.

can you please show me which/where the str property you think I should set?

also, could you show an example of a table with cb's & mh's in it?

Thanks Joe

I am waiting on a screen cast for you.

my suggestion is to modify the descriptions in the part list to read exactly how you want it to read in the structure tabel.

@larrymcvittie3024,

Do you have a sample table format how it should looks like?

if so attach the snap shot of same what are the information you like to show on table for both manholes and catch basins accordingly can create a screen cast and would be easy to understand.

ok, i see where you added it from. Unfortunately, I am already using the stru desc:

StrProp1a.jpg

So if i used that field i would have to go back & change every description on every structure..?

& the other option i would have to create a different structure/part size in the parts list for each type of frame & grate?

PARTS LIST_not fnc b.jpg

where i used to have just 2 because i need to label them as:

STRUCTURES
MH(1200∅)
MH(1500∅)
MH(1800∅)
MH(2400∅)
MH(3000∅)
TIDI (A,HOR)
TIDI (B,HOR)
TIDI (A,3,176.645)
TIDI (B,3,176.546)
TIDI (A,4,176.456)
TIDI (B,4,176.654)
DI(A,3)
DI(B,3)
DI(A,4)
DI(B,4)
CB

not trying to be rude but this sounds like yet another workaround..

what is the point of having all these fields:

StrProp2b.jpg

If you can't extract to multi-structure table?

Bummer, I guess i would have to create 3 different tables (mh circle, mh square, cb's/tidi's) for each network or create all those structure & swap?

Thanks for all your help Joe!
Cheers, Larry

How big is this network?  how manu atypical structures are there?

I didnt piuckup on the mention of the frames and grates you can add those paramters.

the key is having the part list predefined. typically the frame and grate field is a lookup table in the properties of the structure.

What is a DS(200)?

you can sort the panarama and copy paste  pretty quick. there are third party app Urbano Visio that can do global edits. Im not a sales rep just a happy user.

I think I'm at approx 633 structures.

1/2 are mh's, they are easy its the other 1/2, cb's etc

the (A,3) etc i am just getting these details.  guess i could fix/swap them for correct str -> part list desc but then i would have to clear out info from the other 300.

ds 200 is other code we need to appear in the table.

i have been looking into add-on but it must be a matter of approval...

sorry, i cant share this file.

if only i could get the frame, grate etc into an expression i'd be done..

No. I would need to create 7 more structures just for descriptions which will become confusing to other catalog users. Also, this would create 7 times more work if they need to change some other global property. Lastly, my file is already unstable from swapping too many times where i accidentally changed dimensions before swapping. I'm running with 301 errors as per Audit & cannot fix without catastrophic failure.

Although i know you want to blame said errors but i still have yet to see a structure table including MHs & CBs & their respective frames in 1 table. I'm shocked that this has not been a problem for anyone in the past.

Maybe I'm asking for too much?  Maybe all the answers to C3D problems are all workarounds?  Is this a poor start-up issue where all the drawings are set up, design nearly complete, & its too late without a time consuming deconstruction.

Anywho, pardon my rant & thanks for the help & extra customer service.

@larrymcvittie3024,

I was looking for the final output or final table format how it looks for manholes and catch basins with the information's.

see the attached table format i have some specific clients where they need lot of information for pipe networks where some information are not available in civil 3d by default but can be done using expressions or additional property data set, probably if i see the final table (image) i could help you on this. pardon in other post i dont see the table format on i could see the 2 rows.

@larrymcvittie3024,

I just need a image or snap shot of the table so that seeing i can replicate the same on test drawing file and create a video of the same where it helps others and will be documented.

I ambegining to see what you dilema is. You cannot list the "frame" type in the table. is that correct?
