structure profile labels problem - below profile view

Anonymous

when adding structure labels they appear way below the profile view. I've already checked the label style and its setup to use "anchor component - feature, anchor point - label location"

The weird thing is i can drag the text label after it's created, then use the reset location grip, and then it will properly appear back on the profile grid. I have no idea why it's doing this. Suggestions?20190708_01.jpg20190708_02.jpg20190708_04.jpg

There are some additional structure label defaults in the command settings for labeling that can control where the labels get placed in relation to the structure or profile view.

I had seen a post that mentioned changing the defaults for that. originally my drawing had "fixed" for dimension anchor options. I suspect it's the same settings that you showed even though i got to it from the r-click "pipe network" and selected 'edit feature settings'. After changing the dimension anchor option for structures to 'above', new labels still go to way below my profile view. I can see that the profile labels are actually going to a y=0.00 in my drawing if that helps at all.

There's more than one instance of these type of settings that get used depending on how and when a structure gets its label. If they're labeled automatically as they're added to a profile view its one command setting (AddNetworkPartProfLabel), if they get a label afterwards then it uses the setting defaults in a different command (AddNetworkProfLabels) Check those as well.

If you create a new profile view do the labels behave?

I checked both locations and they show the same values.

Also tried recreating the profile view and it's still defaulting to putting the structure profile labels at zero Y.

but if i drag it slightly to get the grips and then select reset grip, it goes where it's supposed to go. really odd.

I appreciate the ideas, suggestions. I'm almost done working on this file, but i've seen this behaviour before and was hoping someone would know WHY it does this.

Trying with different label styles doesn't help. I didn't start this drawing so not sure if it started with our standard civil 3d templates. Obviously there's some setting i'm missing.
