Strange behavior "Stretch, add vertex, convert to arc"

Hello All,

Civil3d2014, Windows 10

I have been experiencing odd behavior lately when i try to use the "Stretch, Add Vertex, Convert to Arc" features/options, whenever i hove to a point i get the context menu next to the mouse pointer, but as soon as i move my mouse to select it, the context menu goes away, i am not able to select any of the options the context menu just disappears as soon as the mouse moves. This didn't happen when I was running Windows 7.

Is anyone else having these issues with windows 10?

Thanks in advance

Win10 + C3D 2014 here.

Not seeing this issue at all.

Do you have a supported display adapter and driver?

Thanks for the quick reply, glad to see it can be fixed! When I follow that link I am unable to find Civil3D in the products column and Windows 10 is not an option for OS. Am I missing something?

Choose AutoCAD (Civil 3D is built on AutoCAD).

Win 10 is not listed when you choose 2014, because it's not supported.

What display adapter are you using?

I'm not sure, I'm not great with computers. Here is a screenshot, let me know if this gives you the information you asked about.

Any help on this? Seems like a big flaw of Civil3D 2014 and Windows 10.

Anyone else experiencing this or have any ideas how to fix it?

Thanks!

So I am cornered into installing C3D2015 or newer for everything to work as it should?

That's not a given. Do you have IT or a tech in the office that can make sure you have the latest video and mouse drivers? That's where I'd start.

Was it ever working in the past with this hardware, including the Intel 630 display adapter? If so, then what changed in between that time and now? Figure that out, undo it, and you're set.

This is a brand new laptop that we bought from Dell, just came in a week or so ago and loaded C3D. I am using a Logitec M510 mouse but this behaves the same if I try it with the Dell touchpad.

My guess is the graphics driver and/or the adapter itself.

We can only guess as good as you from this point. Try updating the drivers. Not sure if you can upgrade the adapter.

Of course you could see if that adapter is certified/recommended for a newer version of AutoCAD and then upgrade to start renting that. Or just live with the issue.

Good luck. Cheers.
