Some objects in viewport display in a different location than in model space

I'm using Civil 3d (2018) and experiencing display issues with my viewports.  I created a profile using an alignment, but I'm not savvy enough (nor are my designs complicated enough) to warrant using pipe networks so I have manually drawn the objects on top of the generated profile.

The objects that I've drawn on top of the profile seem to have all moved about 3m when displaying in the viewport vs. how they appear in model space (or the profile has moved?).

I've attached a couple screenshots (One in model space and one in my sheet set).  If you look at DMH451 and the associated chainage for example I think you'll see what I'm talking about.

I appreciate the help.

Hi,

>> I've drawn on top of the profile seem to have all moved about 3m when displaying in the viewport

it's hard to guess why this happened without your CAD dwg file , maybe the problem with your back grid lines !! would you please attache here your CAD dwg file for testing ?

you view port scale is different then the MS scale and they are annotative objects.

make them match and you shoud be good.

Its hard to say exactly what is going on based on some of what we're seeing is from civil objects and some from manually drawn objects.   However, it appears like you have a different scale set for model space vs the viewport scale. That could be why you're seeing things differently in each view.

You might be on to something with the mis-matched scales.  Since the initial post I had changed my MS scale from 1:1000 to 1:500, same as the viewport.  The viewports now jive with the model space, ableit with the manually drawn objects now in the wrong location, but that's an easy fix.

I have two different profiles in the drawing with the same issues, each one showing the manually drawn objects offset exactly 2.50m from where they were initially drawn - I won't pretend to understand that.

Anyways - seems you guys have figured out an issue that was giving me grief, and for that I offer many thanks.

Hoorah!
