SHP to DWG in layers

Hello, I need to export SHP files to DWG. When I use MAPIMPORT the file is exported in 1 layer but I need to export it in different layers, is there a way how can I make it?

I upload here one of the SHP file in .rar that I need to export. It would be perfect for me if I could sort those lines by 'fclass' from features properties into layers, f.e. lines with fclass rails will be in layer rails, lines with fclass tram will be in layer tram, etc.

I'm sorry for my English, I hope I described my problem clearly.

Thank you in advance

Vaclav

Hi @Anonymous ,

I tried to open your file, but my unzip program didn't want to do it. So, my suggestion will be without using your example.

The idea is to import your SHP file with MapImport command, with all data stored in Object data (you have that option in the command - data column, create object data).

Then save that drawing, open the new one and make the next procedure:

1. With the command ADEDRAWINGS attach file with imported SHP to newly open file

2. With the command ADEQUERY, query the drawing based on object data which are inside of entities (fclass in your example). You can use option for Alter Properties - Layer to define on which layer elements will be placed.

So the idea is to query as many times as you have fclass data values and to place the query to different layers.

Hope this will help you

Best regards,

Drazen

OK, you are working with railways in Prague, correct?

To get layers using MAPIMPORT in Map 3D you can do this:

After step 3., click OK and you'll get layers. The layers will be separated according to the values in the 'fclass' attribute of the shapefile's database file (dbf). Once you get the AutoCad layers, you may change layer color, line type and line weight in the Properties Palette.
