Shades not showing properly on exported earthworks in c3d

So I created an earthworks design, (which is still not done) but i just to see what it looks like in the plans. I exported it so that it can work properly then. Then suddenly this happens 

In the models, it shows the shades and hatches.

But in the paper space, this happens

Check the paper space viewport is set to Top view (click into viewport and check view control or view cube Top). Any degree of twist off vertical will trigger the model (rather than plan) display mode.
If not that the viewport display (wireframe, conceptual etc) may need changing

Thank you, I'll make sure to check this in the future if something similar happens. It had a tilt in the vertical view that isn't exactly noticable.
