I am wondering how anyone else is dealing with Alternative Text, or machine readable text, to meet the requirements of Section 508?

Right now it seems that CAD can't do this.  Is AutoDesk giving any thought to this requirement for public facing documents like PDFs produced in CAD?

Has anyone come up with a good solution?

Dealing with Section 508 compliance in CAD is a notorious headache because, natively, CAD software is designed for geometric precision rather than semantic document structure. While Autodesk has acknowledged these requirements through Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs) and VPATs,  www TxTag org their core tools like AutoCAD 2026 still do not offer a "one-click" solution for generating fully tagged, accessible PDFs with Alt Text from a DWG file.
