Save/Embed the image in the dwg from data connect

Hi

I am importing an image from near map using the data connect. Is there anyway to save the image in dwg format so that the file can be used by AutoCAD or other programs that can read dwg files.

If you use MAPIINSERT to create a reference to the image file then you can save that in the drawing.  The image will still be a separate file but other ACad software will be able to load and view it.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have had experimented with Civil 3D since and found that it was more powerful and accurate to import an esri jpg (exported from nearmap) via the data connect. Override its coordinates to WGS. Add to map. Setup the project coordinates as required (in my case MGA zone 56). Then Export the current map to dwg for use in xrefs.

Yes it is more involved however the images are setup in the right coordinates with incredible accuracy.
