River and Flood Analysis module crashes Civil 3D 2017

We want to get into using RFA for some studys, but I'm having some crippling problems.

First off, every time I loaded RFA in C3D 2017 and import a provided HEC RAS project, it would crash.

I eventually solved this by opening C3D 2016 and importing the same project and it worked fine. I then saved the resulting drawing file and went back to C3D2017, loaded the RFA module and was able to poke around the data.

That was a couple weeks ago.

Now, I'm trying to just open the file with either 2017 or 2016 and every time, it crashes. I can either load RFA and then open the file - crash on open. Or if I open the file then load RFA - crash on load.

Has anyone had any problems with RFA like this? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

I am having the same problem. Civil 3D 2017, can import no problem. I can re-open the DWG file no problem, but when I try and access ("load") RFA, it crashes. Have had to re-import from scratch every time.

Any help would be appreciated. Seems like a good add-on, but can't get it to stay stable enough to say one way or the other.

Thanks!

I ultimately ended up reinstalling both Civil 3D and RFA at some point, not directly related to this issue, but when I did, it worked fine. Not sure exactly what the fix was, as it was months between this post, the reinstalls and me testing it again in 2017.
