Rename Link Codes of Subassembly

Is it possible to rename the link codes of an existing subassembly? I would link to rename the link codes of a few existing subassemblies in my civil 3D platform and not have to compose new subassemblies.

Thank you,

Lewis Muriithi

Hi @lewis.muriithi, are you talking about custom subassemblies? If so, yes, you can rename them. Furthermore, you can edit the custom subassembly to allow user input for link and point codes with a few changes. However, you must do this in Subassembly Composer. So let us know a little more about your case to give you better advice.

Hi Camilo,

Thank you for your quick response. No, the subassembly that I am trying to edit is a basic subassembly from Civil 3D. Is it possible to get the .pkt in order to edit it using subassembly composer?

Thanks again,

Hi @lewis.muriithi, if it is not a complex subassembly you should try to resemble it in Subassembly Composer, and later replace it in your drawing. As far as I know, we cannot edit the C3D preloaded subassemblies. What kind of subassembly you are dealing with?

If it is a lane, use the generic pavement, it will allow you to edit the codes whenever you want to.

Thank you, @ecfernandez I think I will have to create my own custom subassemblies. As of now, I am using a lane, I will edit the generic pavement subassembly.

Thank you,
