Remove UDP classifications from cogo points

Remove UDP classifications from cogo points

I was experimenting with UDP for a subset of my points.  Along the way the UDP have been added to all points. As a result I have a point group that won't delete (object dependent) with 0 points. My UDP classification and the individual properties won't delete (object dependent).  And opening the "edit points" vista shows the UDPs present in ALL points.

I've removed the classification from all point groups and purge any reference from all labels, but it still won't go away.

What have I done, how do I get the UDPs out of the existing cogo points?

More info:

All classification have been removed from all point groups.

But the UDP remains in the Edit Points window.  I can hide the columns but not delete them.

The UDPs remain object dependent and won't delete:

As well as the original point group they were assigned to.

I would expect this since you've imported the data with the definitions. You've defined the columns via the import format regardless of whether you have the udp defined for use in a label style.

So, if you import a collection of points using UDP those get added to ALL points?

I imported most points with standard properties.

Then I imported a selection of points with the UDP (I had a table with all the meter info and wanted to put it in a dynamic point table.)

Once I import some points with UDPs those are added to all points and can never be removed?

The UDP is just a container for you to access the data from the point file

If you import a standard PNEZD file they go to all points..... If You import a PNEZDA1A2A3A4 they go to all points as well but the Point File format is what is defining A1 A2 A3 A4 etc........  Which defines the columns.

Import 100 points with PNEZD.

Then import 10 points with PNEZDA1A2A3.

All points in the file will now have A1A2A3 with no way to remove them or the classification defining them?

That is correct.... It does not matter once the point file format defines the columns there defined for all points regardless.
