Remove a row in tables

We are using Civil 3d 2018 and when clicking on a table and choosing remove items from the ribbon, nothing happens. The command REMOVETABLESELSETBYLSTYLE shows up in the command line, but it goes back to a blank command line.

i think i know what it is, you can remove rows from table that was created from a selection, but not from a table that had everything.

for example, i can remove rows from a points table which was based on selected points in a group, but cannot remove when the table is created for the entire points group. same for pipe structure tables.

I do not quite understand the logic behind this feature.

if i have multiple structures spanned over multiple sheets and i need to create tables by sheet, i have to individually select the structures one at a time on screen and then create tables.

vs.

if i could remove structures from a complete table, i could simply create an all out table, then select the rows there to remove and done. e.g. i could not rename all the null structures so that they are together in the table (Structure-1, Structure-2 etc.) as opposed to my inlets (IN-1, IN-2...), and then easily remove them from the table.

I agree, the tool seems flawed. I love being able to edit the rows because reselecting lots of structures is time consuming. Would be a lot quicker to create by network and use the split table option to approximate how many structures per sheet. Then, remove or add as necessary. Seems like a good wish list item for 2020.

Hey any update on this? or is this tool still useless for large networks?

Cheers,

I haven't upgraded to 2022 yet, but I assume this functionality has not been improved?  It's ridiculous to have to go around and select everything for a table...why can't we delete items when table created from network??!
