Publishing to PDF

I am having trouble with publishing some layouts into pdf sheets. When I try to preview or plot a single page into pdf Civil 3D closes and when I batch plot it pops up "error and warnings found" but when I click the on the message it doesn't show me anything that may be causing the errors. Any knowledge help I am stuck at a stand still.

Please confirm that background publishing is turned off, it seems to cause a lot of various issues, depending on how things are configured.  Beyond that, would it be possible to share some images of your publish settings, or the messages you are getting?
