projecting r/w parcel into section views?

i've got a r/w parcel and i want to show those r/w lines in my section views. is there an easy way to do this without exploding the parcel and converting the polylines into alignments or feature lines?

i can't get a parcel to select as one of the projected objects.

i can add elevations from a surface to the parcel line, just like a feature line, then explode it to a 3dpolyline and that will project to the sections. seems cumbersome but that's what i'm doing.
