Profile Label Expressions That Return Grades From Multiple Stations

I am very new to using label expressions. I learned about them from another forum post (linked below), where the user was using expressions to filter our profile grade break labels. They wrote an expression that checked the grade change and if it was below a certain range, it set the text height to zero so the label was essentially off.
I'm trying to do something similar but with our major station labels on the profile. On my profiles, I label all the grade breaks across the entirety of the profile and then manually enter my major station labels in multiple times, setting the start station and end station to be between the grade breaks (see the attached imaged). That way I don't have grade break labels on top of major station labels. What I would rather do is set the major station labels to just go over the entire profile and then have the few that fall on a grade break turn off automatically.
The profile expression labels for major stations can give you the instantaneous grade and elevation at the location of the label, but I'm trying to see if there is a way for the expression to to check the instantaneous grade or elevation not only at the station of the label but also a location like a foot or so before and after the label (essentially the grade in and grade out of that point). That way, my expression can compare the grade at a point just before and just after my station to determine if I'm at a grade break. Anyone know if this is possible?
