Problem with exporting points from a surface in Civil 3D

Hello,

I have used a few surfaces to create another surface through merging. Then, I tried to import this new surface into Leapfrog as a dwg file to create a topo but it failed. I also tried to export the surface points and import them into Leapfrog instead. However, I got the message that "no points were transferred from the source". Can anyone let me know what is wrong with the surface I created?

Thanks!

Hi @MTalebiC9BD3, try this: Export your merged surface as an XML file. Then open a new drawing and import that XML to have just your new surface in that drawing. Then try again to take that geometry to Leapfrog.

I hope this helps. Best regards!

Thanks for the reply, my friend. I already exported my merged surface as an XML file and created a new drawing. I forgot to mention that. I cannot import the new drawing into Leapfrog, nor can I export the surface points.

Hi Majid,
What formats does Leapfrog accept to import? DWG, DXF, CSV, etc?

Majid,
I first tried AECCCREATEXSLTREPORT on your surface. After 10 minutes I gave up.
Next I turned on surface points and extracted them. I used data extraction to create a CSV file of the points. Attached.

Wow! Thank you! That was a big help. Would you please let me know what command you used to export the points? and why I could not?

Majid,
Here's my workflow for getting a CSV of surface points.
Note:Save the data extraction in ".xls" format, and in Excel re-save to CSV.
