Problem creating Northing & Easting Grid Ticks

Hi, I have followed the advise on this site on how to configure Northing & Easting grid ticks, but I'm struggling.

I have created the new label and have the Easting & Northing meta data added. However 

this works fine when I insert the first grid tick and the Northing & Easting data looks fine.
But when I use the array command and drag it out, the Northing & Easting values don't change, they stay the same as the original. Also when i refresh the drawing the grid ticks change from the label I created to the number '86', very odd.

I'm using Civil3d 2017
Any tips to investigate why this is would be very helpful.

At the finish of the array process it should pop up a message saying that its going to create a non-associative array, which is basically just the label copied into a uniform grid of individual objects.
