Printing a black blackground

I would much appreciate helping me fix a problem iv'e long time having on a specific program file:

when I print the preview looks like this:

and the printing looks like this:

(a full black backgroung every time).

and when I print out to PDF the preview is the same.

and the printing is:

(blank stripe in tha middle).

I know it's a problem on the file but I dont know what it is.

Thank you,

Micha

Do you print a PDF file first, then print that PDF file to paper?  Or are you printing straight from the drawing to paper?

I tried both.

printing straight to paper from autodesk comes out all black:

printing as PDF file from autodesk comes out fine but the actual printing of that PDF file comes out with a missing stripe in the middle:

Printing to what driver and device?
What if you print to a different device (since printing to PDF yields no issues, the problem is not AutoCAD)?

@pendean is right, you have a plotting issue, not cad.

Things to try are:

1) try different pdf viewers, like pdf exchange or other free ones. I have found some print the same pdf better than others.

2) click "print as image" in the print settings, sometimes under the advanced button.

3) if you have full adobe or other windows pdf print driver, try reprinting the pdf to another pdf, then printing that one.

good luck, full size plotters are "fun".

1. Print "DWG to PDF".

2. Open the PDF file.

3. Save the PDF file as "PDF/A" (The default will be that the editing is disabled and keep it that way!).

4. Print the "PDF/A" file.

Thank you all for your help 🙂
