Pressure Network Vertical Deflection with No Fittings

I'm attempting to create a lowering under an existing culvert and everything is working fine for a bit. For this design, we don't want to show the fittings, we just want the pipe to deflect. 

Here's what I'm starting with, an existing culvert and a pressure network. I've designed the lowering (the green line represents where I want the top of the pressure pipe to run).

I then go through and use the "Add Bend/PVI" command and snap to the angle points of the desired path. This works just fine:

I then go into the Toolspace and delete the fittings that were just created and this happens:

As you can see, the pipe no longer follows a straight path between the start and end of the lowered sections.

Anyone ever seen anything like this? I've created a video showing the issue.

Is this profile utilizing the Cut Length method or the Offset at Bends Method?  It's quite possible that if you are using the Cut Length Method, that deflection point is indeed the end of a piece of pipe.  If you use the Offset at Bends method, that cut length goes away.  Again, not sure which method you are using.
