Points mysteriously disappear after reopening drawing, pipe network changes

Hello,

We upgraded to Civil3D 2019 this year; ever since this change, we've been opening drawings to find points missing from point tables and the pipes in the pipe networks changing elevations by themselves. There doesn't seem to be any consistency as to when this happens (it doesn't happen every time a drawing is reopened). The points have also disappeared from the list in prospector.

I need to coordinate with my main drafter to remove the rules from the pipe network; I suspect that might be the issue there. However, I can't figure out how to explain the disappearing points.

Hi,

I can't tell you why things are missing from your drawings. but I have seen better luck with upgrading drawing without a lot of loss of data or drawing corruption when I use the Batch save utility to upgrade my drawings prior to me going into Civil 3D and start working on it in 2019... so I wanted to share this tip, in case you didn't notice the utility when you installed 2019! it's a new light weight program that simply run's a script in the background and upgrades your drawing (note that it is meant for forward upgrades not backward saving!)

Good Luck, thanks

Hi samir.rezk- thanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind for next time we start a drawing in an older version and then upgrade.

However, this doesn't solve my problem- I'm seeing points disappear and pipe networks move around for drawings created in 2019 (actually, 2018 probably). We'll work on them one day in 2019, and then we open them the next day also in 2019 and the points are just gone! I've questioned all the team members who work in drawings and I don't think the issue is user error. Just seems like a glitch?
