Points from multiple objects

I am wondering if you can automatically make points out of multiple blocks in Civil 3d? Or if I can make objects in the blocks that can automatically be selected? I have hundreds of blocks Id like to have as points and marking them one by one is quit time consuming.

Hi @hellgrenalicia, I hope you're doing fine. You can use  DATAEXTRACTION command to get the insertion point coordinates of all your blocks.

Then you'll have a *.XLS file with the point coordinates which you can later import to Civil 3D as COGO points.

I hope this helps. Best regards!

Use the CAD DATAEXTRACTION tool to export the inserts coordinates and elevations, then import the results as CogoPoints.  If that doesn't suit you and you were to consider third party software, this is one of many functions of DotSoft's C3DTools.

A very delayed answer - I tried this but it doesnt seem like I can select all the blocks from one layer for instance, which makes me have to select the objects one by one (which are about 50 pieces). Am I missing a function maybe?

Because what I was triyng to avoid is needing to mark them individually, like from the beginning when I marked the objects with points that I later exported.
