Point to alignment with station

Is there a way to place a point on an alignment with just the station number?

Sorry I am new to C3D, I have a simple alignment from a polyline. I know the station that I want to place a point but can only seem to do that if I know the Northing and Easting.

Learn about Transparent Commands. There is one for Station/Offset.

Thank You,

I got to that stage. However, when I select that option and then select the alignment it prompts me to enter the coordinates and highlights in yellow the station as I move along the alignment. Is it not possible to manually enter in the station that I would like to place the point rather than the coordinates?

Hi Ronnie,
"...highlights in yellow the station as I move along the alignment."
That's just C3D trying to be helpful. Ignore it and type in your station, offset, description, and elevation in the command line.

Man this one is beating me up. I attempted to enter the station number multiple ways, example (-0+50.00 as displayed on the alignment as well as just 50 or -50 and it would not plot the point. Now the option to enter in a value is gone completely and it just shows the yellow highlighted station and offset with no option to enter anything in. URG!

I have attached a screen shot of what I am prompted after those steps and clicking on the alignment. I am sure I am missing something easy here but I cannot enter the station number and get it to drop a point. As I hover over the selected alignment the station is shown however its prompting for co-ordinates. I have tried several ways to enter the station. What am I missing?

Ronnie,
If you turn off Dynamic Input can you enter station on the command line?

What format should I be able to type in the station? ic. -0+20.00 or just -20.0??? Neither works with dynamic input on or off.

Command:
Command: _AeccCreatePointStationOffset
Select alignment:
Specify station along baseline: 1200
Specify an offset <0.00>: 25
Enter a point description <.>: test
Specify a point elevation <.>: 100.01

The command was selected from the ribbon and the alignment selected from the drawing.
Station format is without the +(plus) sign.

When I enter AeccCreatePointStationOffset in the command line and do it it seems to work, tried again the other way just selecting the option from points or point creation tools and still doesn't work. Strange that using the command on the command line and doing it this way works.

Thank You, I will try and update C3D etc., and make sure I don't have any issues that have not been corrected with updates. etc.

i am having pretty much the same issue with this. however, what i am trying to do is create a COGO point with the station from the alignment. i have created a User Defined Property named station and have also created a Point Label style that uses the newly defined UDP (station) but all it does it put a default value of 0+00.00. the UDP value is station so  how do i have the station Auto labeled. i don't want to have to add a description with the station for potentially 100's of point (this is being done for survey staking to send to our survey field crews)
