Plotting Transparent Hatch

Hello,

I am using Civil 3D 2018.

I have a solid, transparent hatch that is supposed to print in color.  When I select transparent in the plot dialog, I get gray scale hatch.  But when I un-select transparent in print dialog, I get the bold, colored hatch, but not transparent.  Is there a setting that would control the behavior I am describing, to allow printing color/transparent hatch?

Hey Chuck,

Did you check your drawing plot transparency setting (TRANSPARENCYDISPLAY) to ensure it is set to 1?  Another thing to check, is to make sure that your page set up has this check box selected (please see below):

One more thing to try is to try a true color gray.

I hope this helps.

Hi Mike,

This hatch is the wildest thing, I have tried everything, including your suggestion.  But nothing works, and it only works in one file, but not in another.  There is something wrong with my file perhaps, I may try to rebuild...

Darn it!  What about just abandoning the solid hatch type and do a dense dot pattern?  Not a solution I realize, but I tend to revert to that for unfriendly solid/transparent hatch issues.  Good luck.

Hey Mike,

I tried that, which works great, then went back to the solid hatch after many trials of experimenting, now it is working again as solid, transparent hatch :).  Thanks for your time and suggestions!!!

ctb settings could be over riding the onscreen transparency settings.
