Pipe Network Structure Disappear in Model View

Hi,

I am currently running Civil 3D 2018 and have faced this issue multiple times that my manholes disappear in the model view. the only way i get them back is select them in plan view and use the Swap Part option, sometimes selecting the same part works else i have to use a different one.

Kindly resolve this as early as possible as i have a project to deliver.

Check the details, are the model layers turned on?  Do you have the Visual Style set to Realistic?

Everything is just the same. They just vanish in model view.

has happened 3 times in 1 month and i have to use swap part on every manhole.

I'm not sure if this will help you or not, but we found that verifying that the pipe network catalog is set to the correct location then running the PARTCATALOGREGEN on pipes and structures helped with the stability of pipe network parts that disappeared or became corrupt in some way.

If we continued to have issues with a specific drawing or project, we completed the following steps in the order specified.

1. Confirm that the pipe network catalog path is set to the correct location.
2. Execute the PARTCATALOGREGEN command for Pipes and Structures.
3. In the pipe network parts list, remove the part family that is having an issue, then Apply and Close.
4. In the pipe network parts list, add the part family as well as the part sizes that were removed in the previous steps then Apply and Close.
5. Swap the parts to replace them with the newly added part definition.

The extra steps in that workflow appeared to resolve the recurring issues of parts becoming corrupt.

thanks @C3D_TomR for your time but I've  already tried using PARTCATALOGREGEN  command and everything is intact at there locations, 1 day i finish up my work, close civil 3d, shut down my computer, next day i come back turn on my computer open my drawing in civil 3d, and i find the manholes vanish in model view which can be seen in plan view but just not in the model view or object viewer.

Did you include steps 3 and 4 that I mentioned in your workflow? We found that sometimes the part family is based on a corrupt definition so and removing and replacing it before swapping parts solved the issue.

A shortcut to swap multiple parts? I use a 3rd party app from the Autodesk App Store written by Steve Hill of Red Transit Consultants. almost daily. The time saved with the swap multiple parts and pipe slope multiple commands alone will probably pay for the app in just one project. I also use Modify Part References, Rename Parts, Set Wye Connections, Adjust Pipes to Surface, and Label Pipe Crossing on every project that contains a pipe network. ahh,, a $300 tool, sorry the management would never approve of this, anything i could do with civil 3d 2018 ???

As far as I know, the “out of the box” feature is single part swap only.
