Pipe Network Rules Set - Issue with minimum pipe cover

Hello !

I've created a pipe rule set that fix the minimum and maximum for the slope and the cover, but when I applied the rules, the minimum cover is calculated from the axis of the pipe and not from the crown...

Does anybody know how to fix that ? Is it an issue with the pipe in my part catalog (I use the catalog created by my company) ?

I would also like to point out that the pipe is circular

Thanks in advance

Hi @Yubari_90,

Sounds like you may have a custom pipe. The Cover is calculated from the top of the outside of the pipe (Crown). Usually because design standards have minimum depths to which they must be buried. If you want to make adjustments based on the lnvert level, allow for pipe width plus pipe wall thickness.

Yes, i use custom pipes and custom structures but I have no idea how they were created (I use the part catalog of the company and i'm not an user of the part builder)
The minimum cover set in my rule takes into account the thickness of the pipe , all the pipes in the catalog are shown with their inside diameter.

Here is my rule set for my pipes :

And here is the result. The green surface is the EG, which is the reference surface for this pipe. The minimum cover always applied from the reference surface to the axis of the pipe :

It might be worth having a simple test using the Out Of The Box parts and check you get the desired result. This will point to an issue with your custom part before delving deeper.

I would assume at this point your custom structure is missing parameters to set the correct drop.

Late response but yes it seems to be a problem with the custom pipes, the rules applies correctly with the default pipes and structures
