PIPE NETWORK PROFILE STRUCTURE PIPES LABLES

Dear Experts..

I would like to know your expert advises regarding pipe network structure pipes labelling in the profile view.

The labelling option text for both- means- incoming and outgoing structure pipes - gives labels but while in the dragged state, the label leader arrow doesn't point towards that particular pipe, instead it points to the structure only.

For reference, please see attached images.

Each time after labelling structure pipes, I need to drag the labels, then explode it to point the arrow leader towards that particular pipe.

Is there is a way to point the leader exactly to that particular pipe??

In general - if you want to label a structure, then you use a structure label.  If you want to label a pipe, then you use a pipe label.

If I understand you correctly, you want to label each individual pipe at the ends of the pipe.  You'll want to configure a pipe label to label the end or start invert and use the dragged state to point it correctly.

those circle pipes inside structures are shown when "structure pipe outline" is on in the structure's profile display style. AFAIK, there is no way to have the label leader point to them.

Best might be to use a structure label style configured to show information for incoming and outgoing pipes.

Hi Joel,

That label wont be working as the pipe is inside the structure, so it must be under structure labels.

You can still label the end of a pipe that is attached to a structure with a pipe label.  You're not required to use structure labels simply because the pipe is attached to a structure.

Hi..

I tried to label those inside manhole ( structure pipes) pipes in profile view with add labels-pipe network-pipe label style, but doesn't work.

Could you please explain what you meant exactly?

I was able to use both a pipe label and a crossing pipe label to label the end invert of a pipe coming into a structure.  There were a few steps:

Use Draw parts in profile view to add the pipe to the profile (the ellipse will disappear, but we'll get it back later).

You will need a pipe label style set up with the info you want to label end invert (or start invert, depending on your case).

Add that label style to your pipe in profile view.

You will have to use the diamond grip to relocate the label at the correct end of the pipe.

Use the square grip to activate the dragged state and place the label.

In profile view properties, on the Pipe Networks tab, uncheck the draw box for that pipe (this will get the ellipse back).
