Pipe Network Editing

When I design pipes if I click off (I.e. end) the pipe network and then want to start a new section it won't let me select a a new pipe section unless I completely close the editor and then re-open it again. Is this a known glitch? Its a bit annoying because I am having to model all the gully outlet pipes as well as the main carrier drain and I have a lot of them on my road. Would be nice if there was a tool to add a new segment once the structure and the pipe type is selected.

(Note some of you are probably wondering why I modelling gully tailpipes and this is because its extremely cluttered under our roads with other underground utilities in the way - in the UK we don't have a underground utility conduit rather its every utility for themselves and pipes and ducts are buried willy nilly everywhere at all depths so its quite difficult to get drainage pipework through it all!). Plus our roads are very narrow in places!

I'm not sure if this is what you're experiencing, but ...

When I'm creating networks I press the button indicated below and select one of the three options.  It stops drawing a continuous network and allows you to restart from a new location.  It could be from a prior structure/pipe or a new location.

I didn't realise that was a click button I thought it was a drop down only - thanks that made it work.
