PIPE MATERIAL

HELLO .

I have tried to change the material on part data-pipe properties from reinforced concrete pipe to just sdp. I have gone to part builder and change the material from reinforced concrete pipe to sdp and save the part builder. however it will not save the drawing, partbuilder. that is when I go to main drawing and add the material to text component it will not add the material. I think my problem is bc the builder dwg is not saving my changes. im using civil3d 2017

thanks

The change will. It effect existing networks.
Change the label style to use static text

well I made changes with to drawing with part builder, see inset, and save dwg. however, when I open part builder again the annotation went back to reinforced concrete pipe. company does not allow us to do static. it most remain dynamic

thanks

Check the parts list. If anyone entered a material under the parts list it persists until changed in the parts list. The parts list effects parts when they are created not after. Existing parts will need to be swapped for new version of the same part for any changes to effect them.

In the settings tab of prospector find pipe networks, expand and pick parts list, right click the parts list name and select edit. select the part, right click and select edit. Near the bottom of the pop is materials. You can enter materials far parts there.

After part has right material in parts list, select a part in drawing area. Right click select swap part and pick the part name. This will update the part in the drawing to match the part and settings the parts list

If you don't see the new material listed in the parts list: Did you click catalog regen in part builder after you made the changes to the part? Did you use the refresh option for the part in the parts builder list?

If you see the material in the parts list: Did you swap the part in the drawing for a new part? and try swapping to a different part and then swapping back if just swapping for the same part doesn't correct the material.

ok the problem is I don't know where it has to change in the part builder. size parameters-edit values, edit calc... somehow I made changes and used the validate button. then I went back and it retain my new material.

ok. the part of swapping is tedious, have tons of new pipes and arch pipes. will have to swap for each one at at time. yes it updates. I thought civil3d was dynamic. but I guess is like when you change you text annotation you can swap to update

ty sorry it takes time to respond. but have to work and learn at same time. I am sure that happens to you

take care
