Pipe labels not showing up in profile

I have a profile that goes way beyond the length of the alignment, however when I try to add a label to a pipe it give me this message:-

Select profile view:

Selected entity must be type : Profile view

The pipe is obviously in the profile view as I can select it, however it will not label the pipe.

So above ^^^^    ----- when it's prompting you to select the Profile View...... what are you selecting? Because C3D is saying that you're not selecting a Profile View.

The problem is that the profile is a right to left profile and I have to extend the profile 100m so the labels will show up. This is ridiculous as the labels should show up if the pipes are within the profile.

As Randy suggested, are you selecting the Profile View?

I am picking the profile, however as I pointed out before, they do not show up unless I extend the 'User specified range' to over 100m from the end of the profile. That means they are there, they just need the extra range of stations to show on the profile.

First: I think there's a terminology mis-match.

The "Profile View" is the civil 3D object that displays the grid, station, elevations, basically the framework for displaying a profile.  The "Profile" is the line(s) within the profile view that displays the surface.  This could be a design profile or a profile derived from a surface. Civil 3D is requesting you to select a "Profile View".

Second: I'm not sure how civil 3D drew the pipes in the profile view if the alignment doesn't extend to where they're located.  Not sure how it knows where to draw them.   The alignment could be extended to them, for enabling them to be drawn and labeled in the profile view, and then have those extended alignment segments masked so the don't appear in the drawing.

As I have stated in this post before, we are having the same problem with all right to left profiles. The pipes are located within the alignment but there is something wrong with the pipe labelling as there is no problem with the labelling the structures connected to the same pipes. It must be happening to other people, or we have some sort of problem with right to left profiles here.

This is very frustrating and the only way we haved found to correct the problem is to extend the profile station range 100m past the end of the alignment.

I know how to label pipes in a profile and I have never had a problem before (except if less than half the length of pipe was in the profile) now when I draw a Right to Left profile Station range (automatic) I still cannot get the pipe labels to show up unless I extend the Station using the User specified range an extra 200m. this is very frustrating as I said before. I am using Autodesk Civil 3D 2020 and I do not remember having this problem before.

If no one else is having this problem, I will have to assume it is something with our Civil 3D.

Having the same problem here on the right to left profile view.  Wondering if your profile view style settings on the grid tab, under axis offset, if you have a left and right value set?   If so, try setting this to zero and see if this resolves the problem.   Unfortunately this changes the profile style.  The problem is the label grip and settings do not flip with the profile view style being set to right to left.  You could extend the profile station out another 100 feet and see if it shows up then.
