Parcel Label through XREF drag state and label location

OK, so I'm labeling parcels through Xref, and in the source drawing I get a arrow grip to relocate the arrowhead, however in the drawing I'm xrefing the parcels too, I don't. The styles seem the same in both drawings, but for some reason the dragging of the label starts at the centroid of the source vs. when moved outside the parcel in the source drawing. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere?xref-label.jpg

I don't know why that happens. As a workaround, I created a Note label that mimics the Parcel label and it can be dragged and moves as necessary.

This just seems like there's a setting I'm missing, I can replicate the affect in the source Parcel drawing by adding a second label, and it just seems that it should be doable. The first area label has grips for the arrow leader and arrowhead, and when I add a second area label it attaches to the original one's "centroid" (i.e. the arrowhead) of the label if it has been moved outside the parcel. And ofcourse in the source drawing I can move the label to various locations without creating an arrow, but the labeled xref, doesn't react the same and as soon as I move the label acts as if in a dragged state. This is peculiar indeed. @Jeff_M would I be missing something?

@rl_jackson In the xref's style dragged state I turn off the Leader display. Then when/if it needs to be dragged as you show I will just add a Qleader. This also allows it to be moved within the parcel to avoid other labels without adding the leader.

That's been my conclusion thus far. I have the original label with the leader, then I have a child of that label without the leader. In my case I've got a block that spans multiple sheets and need to label the open space in more than one place. Then I've got the task of adding multiple labels for Tract "R" (road) which is a continuous meander throughout the entire site, with different street names.

It's somewhat weird that the first parcel label reacts as expected, and then additional labels, basically lock on the insertion point of the first label as it's anchor. Be nice if they would react independently, as I would expect.
