One of the first things you have to decide is if you want to do everything in Civil 3D, import a Field Book file and keep your point in a Survey Database using Survey Points. Or, if you want to do the adjustments in your data collector and export a PNEZD file to import as Cogo Points. Survey Points and Cogo Points follow different rules. Survey points are stored in an external database. Cogo Points are stored in the drawing.
