OLE Object inside block doesn't display when used in Point Style

Hi, I have created a block with a logo using an OLE Object rather than a Raster Image.

This works and displays fine when inserted as a regular block, but when I use this block for my Point Style it doesn't display. Changing the OLEHIDE variable doesn't change anything, but does show the outline of the OLE when set to '1'

What if you add the block as a label style component?

What exactly are you trying to do with this OLE object, and have you tried recreating the block, while points can take on a raster image like the wipeout, I would suspect the could with the OLE as well, so it my just be a matter of exploding and recreating it.

I use the wipeout circle in my blocks for all my manhole symbols and they will sometime flip around so that the letter (S, D, MH, FO, E etc....) will not appear and I have to recreate the block, but I generally have no  issues with the wipeout.

Hi, unfortunately, exploding & recreating doesn't fix it.
I tested with another OLE (our company logo) that is embedded within our titleblock with the same result.
I'd be interested to hear whether anyone has been able to get this to work...
Regards.

Again I will ask what you're trying to do, there is no picture no data just words......

Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words....

Why must it be an OLE that's such an ancient thing to be using IMO

I ended up creating a standard CAD block using AutoCad objects (Lines & Hatches).

@lim.wendy  It would be interesting to see if anyone else has had this issue..?

Regards.

Hi @RDunkley ,

I hope you've been keeping well. 🙂

Would reducing the resolution of the OLE image help?

Meanwhile, I'll try on my end and reply to this post.

Have you tried using it as a image instead of an OLE?

In this German CAD forum you will find a free addin that allows you to import bitmaps as AutoCAD solids. It is useful if you want to import icons as internal drawing blocks. It works similar to the AutoCAD commands TIFIN, GIFIN, PNGIN, which existed in AutoCAD 12-14. It was designed for 2012, but still works in version 2021.

Yes, that was originally how I set it up, I wanted to embed it so that it was 'cleaner' with no risk of people removing the link etc.

Hi @RDunkley ,

I can confirm your finding. I have reported this and it will be researched by our development team. In the
meantime, if you need the marker point style to show, export the Civil 3D drawing to AutoCAD using EXPORTTOAUTOCAD command.

Apologies for the inconvenience.
