A user had some issues with a Civil 3D (2014) surface so they deleted it & created a new with the same name.  Will having the same name potentially cause any issues?

I thought I remembered hearing that the surface would have a new unique identifier that would make this a moot point, but I wanted to be sure.

Thanks!

You should be fine. The only thing I can think of is if the original surface was data referenced somewhere. If that's the case, the data shortcut could pick up on the new surface but I haven't tested it.

As Brian indicated, data shortcuts may potentially get broken, but can be fixed by using object handle or name in the data shortcuts editor.
